If you have limited time in Budapest, this is a perfect option for you to get to know the city, the locals and to get your bearings. I will be ready with a city map to answer all your question regarding the city but if you have any other interest I will be happy to assist you in anything while talking about history, culture, recommendations, countryside-life and a lot else. Visited sights: hotel pickup, Heroes Square, taking a subway/bus/public BUBI bike to the St. Stephen’s Basilica, Liberty Square, Parliament, Shoes on the Danube Bank Memorial, walk or bus through the Chain Bridge, climb or bus to the top of the Castle Hill, Royal Palace, Matthias Church and Fishermen’s Bastion
Would you like to dive deep into the middle age of the Hungarian and Budapest history? Than this is the perfect choice for you! On this tour we are going to walk around the only area of Budapest which partly survived the great wars and luckily left some real old building plus the atmosphere give back the essence of the middle age. Visited Sights: hotel pickup, Castle Garden Bazaar, Royal Palace, President’s Office, Matthias Church (inside visit), Fishermen’s Bastion, coffee & cake break, Jewish quarter of the Castle District, Stephen Tower and Museum of War, walk down to Széll Kálmán Square
On this tour we are going to explore the 19th century Golden Age of the Hungarian Jewish population. This will be followed by talking about what happened in the 1920-s to the 1940-s: gradual deprivation of rights to outright genocide. Hungarians killing Hungarians. Terrible and weird. Visited Sights: hotel pickup, Grand (Dohany) Synagogue interior visit, Ghetto Wall in Kiraly Street, Kazinczy Street Orthodox Synagogue interior visit, Exterior visit of the Mikveh, Szimpla community center and ruin bar, (Synagogue entrance fees are included in tour price)
I have been in love with history since I can remember but at university when I got a chance to get know more the about 20th century I just dived more deep in it because we have so many sources and it’s so controversial. If you don’t know much about this period, book my tour and get to know more about this era but if you are the discussing and debating type, all the better! Visited Sights: hotel pickup, interior visit in the House of Terror Museum, Opera House, langosh (Hungarian street food) stop, Liberty Square with statues of American presindents and The Last Standing Soviet War Memorial, Parliament, Shoes on the Danube Bank

“An informative and important tour- Barbara was knowledgeable and empathetic . We had some really interesting conversations and learned so much about that period of time. We also got to try some traditional snacks along the way. Highly recommend Barbara for any of her tours but we found this to be particularly good.”
