Starting our walking tour on the emblematic Heroes’ Square on Pest we are heading to the hilly Buda side to the Castle District. Fun facts? Learning about locals’ lifestyle or architecture? Taking the oldest subway line of continental Europe? Best photo locations? Check! Giving you advice on our favorite places to eat to get the best Hungarian souvenirs or where to stroll along like a local is also part of our tour. It is a perfect choice for first time visitors.
- ITINERARY:
- Heroes Square → taking m1 subway to
- Elizabeth Square, City Center
- St. Stephen’s Basilica
- Route A: walking across Chain Bridge to Buda
- Route B: Shoes on the Danube Bank Memorial, Parliament → taking m2 subway to Buda
- 10-12 minute walk up to Castle Hill on staircases
- Fisherman’s Bastion
- Matthias Church
- Ruins of the Medieval Castle
- Royal Palace and Government Area
- Optional Coffee Break during walking
- Duration: 4 hours
- Suggested meeting point: Ferris Wheel on Elizabeth Square OR at your hotel, ship port etc.
