About

Welcome to Budapest! My name is Valerie. I am a licensed, local tour guide. Since 2016 I have been providing walking tours here in Budapest. Having been working for river cruise ship companies, free walking tour companies and other local and international travel agencies in early 2020 I decided to do my own tours. You might remember that it was quite an unfortunate year in tourism, too. As soon as the borders were reopened I was happy to welcome my first visitors in 2021. Due to my various experiences in tour guiding I have had the chance to meet people of all ages from really all over the world.
I was born and raised here and I had the chance to live on both sides of our capital Buda and Pest and I know all the “nooks and crannies” of this city. I have always liked being surrounded by foreigners and meeting people from different cultures and ages. Tour guiding and travelling are my passions. It was a great opportunity for me to live in Wales, United Kingdom for a year. I used to be an English speaking nursery teacher so I get on well with children, too.
I am fond of history. Through my tours you will learn in an interesting and fun way about the past, present and future of Hungary. I enjoy meeting new people and helping them to discover new places. I will bring Budapest to you and you will bring a little bit of your home to me.
Let me invite you to explore the diversity of Budapest in an informative and fun way!
Testimonials
“Valerie was an excellent guide. Her English is impeccable and she was patient and nice. We enjoyed walking the city with her and she showed us how to use the train. We felt ready to see a lot more on our own with confidence after we parted ways. I highly recommend a walking tour with Valerie!”
“Valerie was extremely knowledgable in all aspects of history and of the social and political sides of Hungary. I took my daughter along (her first visit to this city) and she learned a lot. Also Valerie told us about customs, food u0026amp; drinks and recommend restaurants. Above all we admired Valerie’s enthusiasm. Well done and many thanks, Valerie!”
“Valerie was outstanding and tour worthwhile.”
